Goat Science
Tachyonics
Since the science fiction series "Star Trek" introduced us to tachyonics (a tachyon is a theoretical particle or wave which travels faster than the speed of light) there has been an explosion of interest from scientists, spiritualists and alternative health workers. The exciting possibilities offered by this new and unbounded energy source have begun to revolutionise the way we view everything from subatomic physics to cancer prevention.
Tachyon theory is holistic in that it accepts the notion of two interdependent universes which are actually indivisible: the visible, sub-light speed universe and an invisible, faster-than-light one. Goatist researchers are especially excited because tachyon theory also substantiates omnipresence, a purely metaphysical concept. A goat is omnipresent (simultaneously existing everywhere, because, logic tells us, everything is a goat). Omnipresent existence can only occur at faster-than-light speeds, since slower-than-light travel takes time to cross space. Therefore, omnipresence can only be an attribute of a Tachyon Universe where time and space are uniform.
The scientific world was in uproar when it was announced that motors had been built which draw upon the tachyon field for energy. These exhibit strange behaviour, such as increasing in speed the longer they run, even though they are connected to no visible power source. Predictably, tachyonic scientists met with enormous hostility from the scientific establishment which refused to publish their results in any of the usual scientific journals. It seems that little has changed since Galileo's day! Indeed, the great Tesla's own work into the revolutionary energy source electricity produced much the same initial response:
"They called me crazy in 1896 when I announced the discovery of cosmic rays. Again and again they jeered when I discovered something new and then years later saw that I was right. Now I suppose it will be the same old story when I say that I discovered a hitherto unknown source of energy - unlimited energy - that can be harnessed." Nikola Tesla
Latest analysis has revealed that the tachyon field is extremely dense. This density cannot be measured because it is a negative state, mirroring the universe of positive density which we inhabit. The theory of negative density is supported by an observable phenomenon: a perpetually expanding physical universe which is brought into being through pressure exerted by expansion of the invisible one. Pressure exerted by the tachyon field upon our physical universe indicates the existence of an invisible, highly dense universe: the tachyonic space.
As Thomas Kuhn explained in The Structure of Scientific Revolutions it is usual for scientists who have spent their lives working within a conventional paradigm to find it very difficult to accept new data which would invalidate their life's work. However, sooner or later, in the face of overwhelming evidence, a paradigm shift occurs and then the revolutionary becomes the conventional, and what was heresy becomes accepted by the scientific establishment. Such a paradigm shift is surely just around the corner with regard to tachyonic physics. Remember: they laughed at crop circles.
Eminent biologist Dr Rupert Sheldrake has indicated that he believes there to be a connection between his Hypothesis of Formative Causation and Goatism. Sheldrake's hypothesis is that:
"...the forms of self-organizing systems are shaped by morphic fields. Morphic fields organize atoms, molecules, crystals, organelles, cells, tissues, organs, organisms, societies, ecosystems, planetary systems, solar systems, galaxies. In other words, they organize systems at all levels of complexity, and are the basis for the wholeness that we observe in nature, which is more than the sum of the parts."
Empirical evidence to support Sheldrake's theory is accumulating rapidly as a result of his own experiments. Current research concentrates on the bonds between pets and their owners and the sense humans have of being stared at, and though the results have yet to be published, they are, apparently, very exciting.
And, indeed, it is clear that Sheldrake's association of the all-embracing Goat with a Universal Morphic Field is highly plausible. Certainly we must agree with him that conventional science leaves many questions unanswered. As Sheldrake points out, there can no longer be any doubt that some form of morphogenesis is at work, but traditional attempts to explain it in terms of molecules and the interactions between them, particularly in terms of DNA and protein synthesis, are inevitably insufficient. They take a bottom-up approach, and can not explain the emergence of form. For example, genes provide code for sequences of amino acids in proteins, but this can not even explain how the proteins fold up in the correct way to give the right three-dimensional structure!
Sheldrake explains that many of his insights about morphic fields have come more from quantum physics than from biology. In various conversations with free thinkers under the influence of a variety of substances Dr Sheldrake explains how:
"...it became clear that some of the phenomena I am talking about in terms of morphic resonance and formative causation could perhaps be explained in terms of non-locality in quantum physics. Further discussions of non-locality in quantum physics have lead me to think that a new theoretical framework should be possible within which quantum non-locality and morphic fields can be integrated".
Certainly, the long awaited synthesis between physics and New Age Science seems a step closer as a result of Sheldrake's groundbreaking work.
